Entry Requirements
For NVQ Level 05 Qualifications
NVQ 4 in Quantity Surveying Assistant (Preference will be given to those with minimum of 1 year experience in relevant field)
or
Have a minimum of three Simple (S) passes at the GCE A/L (Local) from the Physical science stream in one sitting AND pass English Language at GCE (O/L - Local)
or
Have a minimum of three Simple (S) passes at the GCE A/L (Local) from the Biological science/ Commerce stream/ Technology stream (Engineering Technology) in one sitting AND pass Mathematics and English Language at GCE O/L (Ordinary Level - Local).
For NVQ Level 06 Qualifications
NVQ 5 in Quantity Surveying
or
Any other relevant QS qualification, mapped and approved by TVEC as equivalent to NVQ.
HND in Quantity Surveying
In 2007, the CQS introduced Foundation Programme in Quantity Surveying for those who have successfully completed their General Certificate of Education Advanced Level (GCE A/L) examination and wish to select Quantity Surveying' as their future profession. This was a fulltime course conducted in English medium especially designed for beginners to facilitate their entry into the profession. After restructuring the programme syllabus in 2011, the CQS started to offer IQSSL's Higher National Diploma (HND) Programme in Quantity Surveying. In 2018, HND QS programme was accredited by Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission (TVEC).
The programme was updated following the new Quantity Surveying Curriculum of TVEC in 2025. Total course duration of HND is two and half years which consists of four academic semesters and 06 months of industrial training.

Note
A notional hour includes classroom teaching, tutorials, assignment, projects, on the job training and self-study.
One credit (1) is equivalent to 25 notional hours.
> NVQ 05 - 60 credits (1500 hours)
> NVQ 06 - 120 credits (3000 hours)
Six months of industrial training including diary records and evaluation is required to complete the HND qualification.
